New Delhi: A 97 year old woman fed pigeons in her courtyard, the municipality imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 lakh on her complaint. Someone complained about this matter to the municipality. The notice came from there. Initially she was warned, but when the woman ignored her, a fine of Rs 2.5 lakh was imposed.
In this case, a warning was also given that if this happens in future, she and her son will be thrown out of their own house. According to a report, 97-year-old Anne Sego was a music teacher for years. He is very fond of birds. He has even kept some birds in his house. But for the past several months, sparrows and pigeons had started coming to his courtyard. Anne loved feeding them. Every morning she would sit down with grains and call the pigeons and feed them.
Because of this many birds started coming there. This very thing upset someone living in the neighborhood. He lodged a complaint with the municipality. The man claimed that due to the distribution of food grains, many pigeons and seagulls were coming to the area, which were spreading filth in the entire area. Then what was left. The council sent a notice to the woman. The notice said, if you do not stop this anti-social behaviour, you will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
When the woman did not pay attention to this, the council increased the fine to 2,500 pounds i.e. Rs 2.5 lakh. Even after this, the council sent a notice to the woman's 77-year-old son Alan. Wrote, if you are not able to convince your mother then both of you will be thrown out of the house. Legal action will also be taken. In fact, in many countries including England, Thailand, Colombia, Canada, America, feeding pigeons comes under the category of crime.
There are very strict laws regarding this in Venice. It is believed that the arrival of pigeons will create dirt in the areas, due to which there is a risk of infection spreading. This also affects cleanliness.
