Thimphu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day state visit to Bhutan. Addressing a gathering at Tendrelthang Festival Ground in Bhutan during his visit, he said India-Bhutan partnership is not limited to land and water. He said, Bhutan is now India's partner in its space missions. Bhutanese scientists have launched satellites in collaboration with ISRO. He said that we celebrate the achievements of others.
PM Modi further said that the coming five years will bring new energy to India-Bhutan relations. Modi said to fulfill your goals, India stands with you for BB-Brand Bhutan and Bhutan Believes. We will work to create pathways in connectivity, infrastructure, trade and energy sectors. He said that the aspirations and goals of the youth of India and Bhutan are the same. He said India has set a target of becoming a developed country by 2047, while Bhutan has set a target of becoming a high-income country by 2034.
Prime Minister Modi said that India is progressing at the fastest pace. To take forward today's achievements, we have taken a pledge of 25 years of Amritkaal. He said that soon we are going to become the third largest economy in the world. Bhutan will become a strong partner in our journey.
PM Modi has also been awarded Bhutan's highest civilian award, the Order of the Druk Gyalpo, making him the first foreign leader to receive Bhutan's prestigious honour. Modi has been given this award for his outstanding contribution to the development of India-Bhutan relations and his distinguished service to the Bhutanese nation and people. Shri Modi thanked the Prime Minister of Bhutan for the award and said, today is a big day in my life as an Indian. This honor is not my achievement, it is the honor of India and 140 crore Indians.
